Hi,

My name’s Jim Taggart, and I’m the creator of Leadership World Connect and the thought leader behind its content. My purpose is to help talented people like you become a better leader in your work, home and community.

I believe leadership is a journey, a constantly evolving process through which we learn and grow. As leaders, we can inspire greatness and effect positive change. And by working together we can make our world a better place. .
In keeping with those objectives, the articles on this website and my blog posts cover such topics as:

My articles and posts are not intended to be the final word on leadership; they’re simply ideas, concepts and perspectives placed before you for consideration and discussion.

What qualifies me to raise these issues? I’ve been a student of leadership for over 15 years. I’ve devoted my work to researching and applying leadership development, organizational learning and team building. I’ve initiated and led numerous change management projects. Helping others become better leaders is a core ingredient of everything I do.

I’m also a professional economist. Through my work with the federal government for 28 years, I’ve acquired a strong understanding of globalization issues, encompassing competitive forces, innovation, technology and human capital development.

In addition to a B.A. and an M.A. in economics (Honours) from the University of New Brunswick, I hold an M.A. in leadership and organizational learning (Honours) from Royal Roads University. My Master’s thesis, entitled “A Leap of Faith,” was on the subject of shared leadership.

I’m an active member of Toastmasters International and currently president of my local club. In my spare time, I enjoy playing piano and writing jazz piano music and reading books on business economics, political leadership and geo-politics, not to mention the occasional espionage thriller.

I live with my wife, Sue, in Ottawa, Canada. We have four wonderful children, all grown now and successful in their own rights. And we have two granddaughters, whom we adore.

This website and my blog are my opportunity to share with you all I’ve learned throughout my career. The concepts have been tried and tested; they’re not just textbook theories.

As you can tell by now, I’m passionate about the subject of leadership. I hope you share some of my enthusiasm for the subject and that you’ll choose to become an active participant, offering your views on leadership.
